Day 1: Arrival in the Arctic

Fly from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq and onwards to Ilulissat. Transfer to Hotel Arctic, overlooking the Disko Bay. Enjoy a welcome dinner with muskox and reindeer specialties while watching the midnight sun (summer) or listening for the crackle of the aurora (winter).

Day 2: Disko Bay Ice Cruise

Board a reinforced boat for a cruise among the colossal icebergs at the mouth of the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site. These giants can be over 100 meters high. Keep an eye out for humpback whales feeding in the nutrient-rich waters.

Day 3: Inuit Culture & Dog Sledding

Visit a local Inuit community to learn about life north of the Arctic Circle. In winter, embark on a traditional 2-hour dog sledding adventure across the frozen fjord, feeling the power of the huskies and the silence of the snow.

Day 4: Sermon of the Mountain

Hike (or snowshoe) to the deserted settlement of Sermermiut, where you can see traces of Inuit cultures dating back 4,000 years. The viewpoint here offers the most spectacular panorama of the Icefjord. Farewell dinner at Restaurant Ulo.

Day 5: Return Journey

Last morning shopping for tupilaks (bone carvings) and seal skin products. Flight back to Copenhagen via Kangerlussuaq, arriving in the evening.
